Meet Chandrika

The Artist

Based in Livermore, California, Chandrika is a self-taught artist whose work blends centuries-old South Asian folk traditions with contemporary materials and vision. Her paintings and sculptural pieces draw inspiration from mandala geometry and the intricate dot and line patterns of Gond art.

The Full Story

What began as a personal outlet during the COVID-era lockdowns soon transformed into a daily practice of exploration and creation. Working with everything from canvas and clay to discarded CD-ROMs, Chandrika channels a meditative rhythm into each piece—building beauty through pattern, color, and quiet repetition.

Her story is one of rediscovery. After decades devoted to raising a family and working in the family business, Chandrika found her way back to art through intuition, patience, and play. Today, her home studio is a haven of experimentation and self-expression, where each work is a vibrant reflection of heritage, presence, and possibility.

The Art

Each piece in Chandrika’s portfolio is a dialogue between tradition and innovation—where dot meets line, form meets feeling, and ancestral art finds new life.
